Description

Forecasting Oracle system performance is a proactive performance management requirement. This is especially true when both budgets and workloads wildly fluctuate. The questions are always "how," "how long," "how much money," and "how accurate." This paper will introduce an industry standard systematic method for responsible forecasting and provide thorough explanations of the many ways performance can be forecasted along with their associated risks, costs, capabilities, and limitations. Special attention is given towards transitioning into using forecasting as part of a DBA's daily routine.
